Research and Business Development Intern
Title: Research and Business Development Intern
Work Schedule: 20 - 25 hours a week, September - December 2018 (exact start and end dates determined based on candidate availability)
Location: Washington, D.C.
Compensation: $13.25 per hour or course credit
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist PeaceTech Lab in various research and business development related capacities. Possible tasks include developing and maintaining a list of relevant grant opportunities, helping write proposals, creating budgets, managing contact databases, doing market research, logistical help for events, and administrative work.
Master's student from any discipline with an interest in media, science, technology, or peacebuilding and relevant skills in business development. Successful applicants will possess a good understanding of media and technology and their role in conflict resolution, development, and humanitarian sectors; excellent research, writing (in English), and critical thinking skills; attention to detail, creativity, good inter-personal skills, and the ability to work well with a team in time-crunch situations. Applicants must have a working knowledge of software applications such as MS Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of content management systems is preferred.
