9th Annual TIDES Technology Field Demonstration: “Building Resilience: Preparing for Natural and Man-Made Disasters”

  • Ft. McNair 60 5th Avenue Washington, DC, 20024 United States

Sheldon Himelfarb spoke at the 9th Annual TIDES Demonstration on a panel discussing “Innovative Technology Solutions for Development and Peacekeeping." Joining him on the panel was Alexis Bonnell of the US Global Development Lab.

The purpose of the TIDES Demo is to enhance public-private partnerships with interagency, whole-of-society, and international activities. The technologies showcased deal specifically with low-cost, cross-cutting, rapidly deployable capabilities that populations under stress can use. This event is widely attended by the Department of Defense officials; government agencies active in domestic and international disaster response and building partners in post-conflict, post disaster, and impoverished situations - DHS, FEMA, State Department, Red Cross, National Defense University students; as well as an array of private, for-profit and non-profit organizations.
