George Foote is a lawyer who represents technology, telecommunications and Internet companies. His clients include social entrepreneurs, major public enterprises and nonprofit organizations in the United States and abroad.
Mr. Foote’s clients are leaders in creating new forms of cybersecurity for cloud-based enterprise and in establishing privacy protection for financial institutions and their customers. He has helped clients devise strategic communications for legislative programs in the environmental, defense, and telecommunications industries. He helped create the first international financial settlement system for the wireless industry and represented the industry in creation of health research programs. He has lectured and written widely on telecommunications policy.
Mr. Foote serves as general counsel to the United States Institute of Peace. He serves on the boards of directors of the International Peace and Security Institute and the Leadership Crucible, an organization providing educational opportunities in South Sudan. He served as chairman of the board of Pundit Productions, a nonprofit public radio news organization.
