Achol is a Specialist at PeaceTech Lab Africa. PeaceTech Lab works to reduce violent conflict using technology, media, and data to accelerate and scale peacebuilding efforts. Headquartered at the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP), the Lab carries out its mission in close collaboration with public and private sector partners.
Achol works on the implementation of the Sawa Shabab peacebuilding radio drama in South Sudan and in Kakuma refugee camp and on the Lab’s work countering hate speech in South Sudan and Kenya. Previously, she was the project manager for #defyhatenow and Radio La Benevolencija, both of which are based in South Sudan and use training, community engagement, and radio production to counter and raise awareness of the offline impact of online hate speech. Achol has a degree in Literature from the University of Alberta, Canada and speaks five languages.
