Althea Middleton-Detzner


Althea brings over a decade of experience working on peace and conflict, with expertise in civil resistance and corporate - community conflicts. Her work with for-profit companies, international agencies, nonprofit organizations, universities, and civic groups has included everything from project management, strategy, and consulting to curriculum development and coaching services. Prior to working at the Lab, Althea worked with International Center on Nonviolent Conflict from 2005-2016 and was a Curriculum Development Specialist for the Global Campus in the Academy at the United States Institute of Peace.

Althea has an M.A. in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and a B.A. in International Affairs and Development from George Washington University. She has lived in Thailand, Ecuador, South Africa, Argentina, Cambodia, France, and Costa Rica and is a highly skilled Spanish speaker.
