Kelly Hoye serves as the Social Media, Outreach and Events Coordinator at PeaceTech Lab and groundTruth Global. PeaceTech Lab works to reduce violent conflict using technology, media, and data to accelerate and scale peacebuilding efforts. Headquartered at the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP), the Lab carries out its mission in close collaboration with public and private sector partners.
Originally from a small town in Ohio and proud of her Midwest roots, Kelly began her career in Washington, DC by launching herself into a Conflict and Conflict Resolution Master’s program at the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University. Throughout her time as a Master’s student, Kelly focused on conflict prevention in Sub-Saharan Africa, which culminated in a capstone project focused on the reintegration of former members of Boko Haram in Diffa Region, Niger. She has extensive experience with data analysis, social media, and outreach, having previously worked with the Center for International Policy, the Fund for Peace, and starting her career with the Lab as the Communications Intern. Kelly received her undergraduate degree in International Studies from Baldwin Wallace University and is passionate about putting new and innovative spins on traditional methods of violence prevention.
