PeaceTech Lab Operations Manager.

PeaceTech Lab is looking for a full-time, energetic, mission-driven, and sociable Operations Manager to support on operations and handle all things related to our building at our location in the William Jefferson Clinton Center for Peace and Technology on the campus of the United States Institute of Peace. Duties and responsibilities:

  • Get your geek on with IT connectivity in prep for meetings, demos, events. You’ll liaise with the IT Help Desk to solve issues and help with IT troubleshooting.

  • Manage tenants with a deft and diplomatic hand; and be the primary liaison with the landlord’s facilities team - a critical role as we try to change the world.

  • Help our visitors feel welcome by registering guests, scheduling parking, and working with the building’s security team.

  • Make it all count: you’ll work with the ops team to manage assets, create/update inventories, build and track budgets.

  • Prepare reports and financial data.

  • Party time: you will be the go-to person for all events in the building. Must love a good happy hour! An eye for design is a plus.

  • Train and supervise other support staff as necessary.

  • Assist in addressing inquiries, errors, and unresolved issues.

  • Work closely on staffing and administrative concerns.

  • Organize the intern program, onboard and offboard interns, consultants, and new staff as needed.

  • Conduct research and analysis where necessary.

  • Help organize and support the Lab’s physical offices and related spaces.

  • Manage other relevant duties as assigned.

Desired qualifications:

This position requires exceptional efficiency, analytical skill, and attention to detail, as well as experience with administration, communication, and internal and external relations. The candidate must be able to carry out multiple projects while prioritizing tasks. Good writing skills are essential. The candidate should possess excellent interpersonal skills and be a strong team player with a positive attitude and high ethical standards. Discretion and confidentiality are critical to this position. The position requires strong computer and Internet research skills. Experience with event planning is a plus. A background in media, technology, peacebuilding, development or related fields is a significant plus. Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree and/or experience in a related position preferred. Position is contingent upon the favorable completion of a suitability background investigation.
